Irish Drinking T-Shirts And Making Mistakes

By William Gaines

Last St. Paddy's Day, I woke up without really knowing where I was and what had happened to me. I was in someone's house that I didn't know, my face hurt, and my Irish drinking t-shirts were nowhere to be found. I had had way too much fun the previous evening, and I had to figure out how to get home. My story isn't unique, either. Here's a list of things to avoid doing on St. Paddy's Day.

The night of St. Paddy's Day is and easy night to make some serious mistakes. One of the absolute worst mistakes you can make is to let your beer goggles cloud your better judgment and take home some poor girl who hates herself enough to be someone's one-night-stand. If you wake up and she's wearing your Irish drinking t-shirts...just let her have the shirt and leave. It's not worth rescuing.

Whatever you do, you can keep from making most mistakes just by monitoring how much alcohol you suck down through the night. You want to get drunk, not stupid. You want to remember the good times, not be blacked out in a fog of regret. Just because you're wearing Irish drinking t-shirts, doesn't mean that you should like it.

What never fails on St. Paddy's Day is to see some people fighting in the parking lot. While this may be very exciting and worth a minute of your time to watch, you definitely don't want to be a participant. Your Irish drinking t-shirts could get ripped, you might spill your drink, and you'll probably end up in jail. Your best bet is to count to ten and walk away if your temper gets out of control. No sense in tempting that Irish blood in your veins, after all.

By all means, you should have an excellent time this coming St. Paddy's Day. What you should keep in mind is that whatever you do on the night of St. Paddy's Day, you're going to have to be accountable for the next day. Have an amazing night, wear some awesome Irish drinking t-shirts, and pound down some green beer...just be a responsible adult while you're doing it.
