So, I decided to keep it as is! It works pretty much as advertised.
That said, contrary to how these headphones are described on Amazon, these headphones DON'T have "dynamic surround sound." I wish they did and I wonder why they don't, as the lower-level Model RS 170 headphones have surround sound. So, that's probably an unavoidable issue. However, all my complaints combined don't add up to the loss of a full star. It is for these two reasons that I was curious to see if Sennheiser had a solution to the line out idea. I called Sennheiser and spoke to someone who said that the 180's do have this feature. The headphones presented a very wide soundstage with ample presence but not too much "air". As I stated above these are very warm sounding headphones.
Everything considered I would recommend this headset highly to anyone! I bought this wireless headphone system to use while watching TV late at night, so I won't wake my spouse who sleeps upstairs above the TV room. I find the 130's much easier to change volume since it is a simple roll of a wheel but the 180's won't change volume while lying on my side. The 180's do take some getting used to if you want to change volume while you're wearing the headphones. You will hear bullets in front of you, behind you, and to your right. They are great headphones and no regrets. I had original purchased the Sennheiser RS120 but wasn't thrilled with the lack of bass, volume levels and interference issues. Our 97 year old mother uses them to watch TV. The sound quality is much better than the 120's.
After 24 hours and 45 minutes, that little orange light was still blinking, so I gave up and used them anyway. But this is just a nitpick really, they can still be used, and it should be noted that I'm using the batteries which came in the package.
On the other hand, if the earphone charging station and transmitter were separated, I guess they might both need AC power, which would increase the cost of the unit. There is also a split-second delay between the time you hear something on the TV speakers, and the time you hear the same thing on the headphones. To be specific, Sound staging is quite good. Bass is full, prompt, and accurate. The On/Off button on the base unit is very, very small and not easy to see if a person has vision problems and cannot be easily felt. A light flashes slowly when the base unit is on, but is dark when it is off. I do periodically get a brief "hiccup" in the sound when I'm in the remote areas of the house, when I'm outside grilling on the patio, and when I walk into the garage. None of those distances exceed 150 feet, so I do question whether these headphones truly have a 320-foot line-of-sight range that Sennheiser advertises.

They do not stop ambient sounds very well however I just turn up the sound a little and they are good. Good deal for the cost. Wireless Headphones For Computer. The sennheiser at loud volumes sounds irritating. Could be worse, although not great wireless headphones for computer. Cordless Stereo Headphones.
